On Sunday, 30/4/2023, work resumed in most branches of the Central Bank of Sudan across the states, and the branches of commercial banks in those states also began providing their banking services, including cash withdrawal and deposit services.

We also wish to inform that a limited and partial fire broke out at the Central Bank of Sudan – Khartoum Branch on Al-Baladiya Street three days ago. It was brought under control and caused damage only to the external cladding of the building. Thankfully, no major damage occurred.

We reassure depositors and bank account holders that their funds in the banking system are safe, and that the incidents of looting or theft that took place at some branches of commercial banks do not affect the deposits of the public held by those banks.

The Central Bank of Sudan continues to exert efforts to restore all banking services to normal throughout Sudan, enabling citizens to carry out their transactions through various payment channels, including electronic payment services such as mobile applications, point-of-sale, and electronic clearing.

In conclusion, we pray to Allah that peace and security prevail across the entire country.
