Important Announcement

The Central Bank of Sudan has announced the commencement of the first phase of the currency exchange process, which begins with opening bank accounts for individuals who do not currently hold accounts with banks.

The Central Bank explained that this currency exchange will differ from previous experiences, as exchanging money will require citizens to have a bank account. Those who do not have an account must visit any of the banks operating in Sudan to open one and then deposit their cash into the account.

By opening a bank account, customers will be able to benefit from banking services such as deposits and withdrawals, in addition to the advantages of electronic banking services offered through bank applications, which include making all necessary payments such as bills, fees, and other services.

The Central Bank has instructed all banks in the country to facilitate account-opening procedures in order to ease the exchange process. It also urged the public to cooperate with banks by fulfilling the requirements for opening accounts.
