Ms. Amina Mirghani Hassan, Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, her deputies, and the Bank’s staff mourn the passing of the late:

Dr. Taj Al-Sir Mohamed Khair

He passed away on the evening of Friday, July 17, 2026, in Khartoum State. The funeral reception is being held at his residence in Omdurman, Al-Thawra, Block 7.

The late Dr. Taj Al-Sir Mohamed Khair was a member of the Sudanese Currency Committee alongside the late Mamoun Behairy. He was among the pioneering figures who laid the foundations of banking in Sudan. He made significant contributions and authored numerous research papers, articles, and books in the field of banking, many of which have become valuable references for researchers and students.

We pray that Allah accepts him with mercy and grants him a place in Paradise among the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous—and what an excellent company they are. We also pray that Allah makes his contributions a source of reward in the Hereafter.

Our condolences extend to his family, relatives, students, and all those who knew and appreciated his contributions.

Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return.
