Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan Inaugurates Operations at the Credit Information and Rating Agency in Khartoum
As part of the Central Bank’s efforts to restore the operations of its headquarters and supporting entities in Khartoum State, Ms. Amna Mirghani Hassan Al-Toum, Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, inaugurated operations at the Credit Information and Rating Agency’s building on Al-Gomhoria Street in Khartoum following its rehabilitation.
She was accompanied by her deputies, Mr. Al-Muatasim Abdullah Ahmed and Dr. Sami Abdulhafiz Saleh. The event was attended by the Agency’s Director General, a representative of the Sudanese Banks Union, and the Directors General of the Central Bank of Sudan’s departments.
The Governor reviewed the progress of work at the Agency and commended the efforts of its employees and management in carrying out their duties under highly complex circumstances. She also directed that the implementation of approved projects be expedited in coordination with the relevant departments at the Central Bank.
For her part, Ms. Mona Ahmed Al-Bashir, Director General of the Credit Information and Rating Agency, expressed her appreciation, along with the Agency’s employees, to the Governor for her interest in and close follow-up of the Agency’s operations.
The Credit Information and Rating Agency is an independent legal entity established pursuant to the Credit Information and Rating Law of 2011. It is headquartered in Khartoum State and operates under the supervision of the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan.
The Agency aims to provide credit information services, prepare credit files for customers, issue credit reports on the indebtedness of customers of banks and financial institutions, conduct credit ratings, ensure the confidentiality of information and data, and facilitate the exchange of such information with similar foreign agencies.
