In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Obituary
Allah the Almighty says:
"And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient. Who, when disaster strikes them, say, 'Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.' Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is they who are rightly guided." (Al-Baqarah 2:155–157)
Allah, the Almighty, has spoken the truth.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, the Chairman of the Board, his two deputies, the members of the Board, and all the employees of the Central Bank of Sudan mourn, with deep sorrow and submission to the will of Allah, the passing of the late:
Dr. Mohammed Khair Ahmed Al-Zubair
Former Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan,
who passed away in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt. With his departure, the country has lost a distinguished figure, a renowned economist of unparalleled caliber, who served his homeland sincerely and selflessly. He was first appointed as Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan and Chairman of its Board in March 2011, and was reappointed once again in 2018.
We bear witness that he was upright in conduct, pure of speech, of pleasant company, well-mannered, and noble in character, a man of wisdom and sound judgment. In mourning him today, we grieve the loss of all the virtues of goodness, chivalry, and humanity that he embodied.
O Allah, forgive him, have mercy upon him, and cleanse him with water, snow, and ice. O Allah, grant him a home better than his home, a family better than his family, and a community better than his community. Admit him to Al-Firdaus Al-A‘la (the highest part of Paradise), his abode and dwelling, among the Prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous — and excellent are those as companions.
Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return. There is no power and no strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Almighty.
