Operation of the Central Bank of Sudan Banking System and Clearing System

The Central Bank of Sudan, through its technical team, has successfully restored the operation of its banking system and the internal technical systems connected to it across all its active branches in the states. This has brought the Central Bank’s banking system back to its normal operations as they were before the outbreak of the ongoing war in the country since 15 April 2023. The Bank’s systems had been affected by the shutdown of servers due to the instability of electricity and telecommunications services as a result of the war and its accompanying events.

The Central Bank of Sudan also notes that the technical team has completed all the necessary technical and procedural preparations for the full resumption of clearing and real-time settlement systems, after ensuring the readiness of all other related parties.
